Planned Parenthood handing out sex-swap drugs ‘like candy’

A detransitioner has accused abortion giant Planned Parenthood of handing out ‘sex-swap’ hormones like “candy to anybody who walks in the door”.

The company began offering the drugs in 2015 and is now one of the largest providers in the USA, offering them in more than 200 clinics across 41 states.

According to its website, cross-sex hormones can be offered during the first visit without requiring a letter from a mental health provider.

Easy access

An estimated 35,000 individuals in the US sought these drugs through Planned Parenthood in 2021, with the National Center for Transgender Equality indicating it may be the “largest provider of trans health in the country”.

In 2020-21 the organisation reported an income of $1.7 billion of which over 43 per cent came from taxpayer funding in the form of Government grants, contracts and Medicaid reimbursements.

Planned Parenthood has also developed resources for teens, with one video claiming that puberty-blocking drugs are “safe and can give you more time to figure out what feels right for you”.

‘Deceptive and unsafe’

The video states: “Your gender identity is real. You should be the one to decide what changes you wanna make to your body.”

Planned Parenthood’s website also says: “No one’s body is wrong just because it doesn’t fit into someone else’s narrow ideas about sex and gender.”

Dr Janette Nesheiwat, a family and emergency physician, labelled the video “morally corrupt”, “deceptive” and “medically unsafe”.

She added it is “luring in these vulnerable children, pushing puberty blockers on them, all the while bypassing their parents”.

Detransitioners

In a documentary released last month, The Detransition Diaries, Cat Cattinson recalls how Planned Parenthood prescribed testosterone to her after a mere 30-minute phone call in early 2020.

She later received surgery after a 45-minute phone conversation and a referral letter for a double mastectomy without ever having been seen in person.

Cat eventually stopped taking the sex-swap drugs and returned to living as a woman.

Another detransitioner, Helena Kerschner, said she received a high dose of testosterone after a Planned Parenthood appointment lasting just an hour.

Miriam Cates MP, who recently called for a police investigation into trans charity Mermaids, said the UK should look to prosecute anyone found promoting or selling hormone drugs to youngsters.
