Thousands proclaim ‘Jesus is the Way’ across Dublin

Thousands of attendees gathered in Dublin over the weekend to march for Jesus.

The annual event, which involved a procession through the city centre with banners such as “Christ is King” and “Jesus is the Way”, ended with “worship, testimonies and corporate prayer for the city and the nation”.

The organisers thanked everyone for attending, quoting Chronicles 7:14: “If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Hope in Christ

Speaking on the day, Pastor John Ahern declared: “We’re here for the March for Jesus with Christians from north, south, east and west of all kinds of different denominations and backgrounds gathered for one reason and that is to lift up Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.”

“We just want to offer people the hope that we have found in Jesus Christ and celebrate our Lord on this very special day.

“So thousands of people have made the effort to come from all around the country to lift up Jesus Christ, and so we’re really excited to be here today and to pray for our nation in particular at this time.”

Divine love

Last year, tens of thousands of Christians marched for Jesus across the island of Ireland.

The March for Jesus in Belfast saw around 8,000 people take to the streets in August, and an estimated 25,000 people in Dublin at the end of September.

Pastor Ahern, who organised the marches, described them as “an evangelical initiative, not an ecumenical one”, aiming to proclaim the love of Christ through public witness, worship, and prayer.
