Planned Parenthood reports record number of abortions

US abortion giant Planned Parenthood performed 392,715 abortions in 2022-23.

This is a record number of abortions for the organisation, the Charlotte Lozier Institute observed, and marks a 20 per cent rise in deaths over ten years.

Following the overturning of Roe v Wade in June 2022, twenty-one states have restricted abortion, but an equal number have made it even easier to get an abortion.

Soaring

According to its report ‘Above and Beyond’, Planned Parenthood and its affiliates funded over 98,000 people to help cover the cost of their abortion or travel to a centre.

Over 860,000 users accessed its online tool abortionfinder.org, which claims to be “the most comprehensive” directory of abortionists in the United States.

The organisation boasted that demand for abortion at its centres in States where it is not restricted “soared by up to 700%” in 2022-23 and that its lawyers were seeking to challenge pro-life protections in sixteen states.

Human Coalition President Jeff Bradford said: “The sick irony is that they are going ‘above and beyond’ not to care for women but to expand abortion.”

Murder

American stand-up comedian and political commentator Bill Maher recently outlined his pro-abortion views in conversation with Piers Morgan and Financial Times columnist Gillian Tett.

On Real Time with Bill Maher, remarking on the view that pro-lifers see abortion as murder, he said: “and it kind of is. I’m just OK with that. I am. I mean there’s 8 billion people in the world, I’m sorry we won’t miss you. That’s my position on it.”

Challenging the shocked reaction of Morgan and Tett he asked: “Is not that your position if you’re pro-choice?”
