Nudity in Seattle ‘Pride’ parade sparks outrage

Naked activists were filmed marching and riding bicycles in Seattle during its annual LGBT ‘Pride’ parade as children looked on.

Videos of the demonstration were shared on social media, leading to uproar. In one clip, men and women walked naked around the Seattle Center International Fountain where children were playing.

Organisers had advertised a “family area” and “entertainment for all ages”.

Public indecency

Jaimee Michell, founder of Gays Against Groomers, said: “What blows my mind is that there are parents that still continue to bring their children to these events.”

American author and commentator Carol Swain, stated: “Decent businesses and organizations should stop bankrolling these parades. They should not sponsor or legitimize public indecency.”

UK-based women’s rights campaigner and lesbian Julie Bindel called the scenes a “grotesque overreach of the ‘queer community’” and noted that support for LGBT causes “is waning, thanks to sexual predators hiding behind the rainbow flag”.

The President of the US ministry Living Waters, Emeal Zwayne, said he was “shocked”, as the police were there “doing nothing, parents with their children there doing nothing”. He urged Christians to not become desensitised and to speak up.

Family

Earlier this year, the US state of Tennessee announced that June would be “Nuclear Family Month”, in stark contrast to those who promote ‘LGBT Pride’.

Tennessee will officially celebrate the family — defined as “one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children” — as “God’s design for familial structure”.

Signed into law by Governor Bill Lee, Joint Resolution 182 emphasises that “the nuclear family is under attack in our beloved State and nation, and it is our responsibility to uplift, protect, and support values that help Tennessee prosper”.
