‘Hypocritical’ Colorado school bans 13-year-old’s pro-life poem

A 13-year-old girl in the US state of Colorado has been prevented from reading her pro-life poem to her classmates, after it was branded “offensive” and “unsafe”.

In a video posted by ‘Libs of TikTok’, the girl explained that her class at Drake Middle School had been asked to write a slam poem about a “conflict in the world that we are passionate about”.

The teacher reportedly claimed the poem was “too political” to be presented in front of the other children, but the girl’s mother noted that the teacher was presenting “a lot” of other political material as truth, including “LGBTQ rights”.

‘I wouldn’t be here’

The girl explained that the issue is “integral” to her family because her grandmother chose life at just 14 years old.

The pupil’s mother reflected: “I wouldn’t be here today if she lived in the climate that we live in now, because mostly, people would say that she should have aborted me, she should have done away with me.

“But this shows why this topic is so very important to us, because there is hope in hard situations. There is purpose in pain. Good things come out of situations that seem bleak, and my family is proof of that.”

March for Life

Earlier this year, tens of thousands joined the annual US March for Life, declaring ‘life is a gift’.

President of March for Life, Jennie Bradley Lichter, described the theme as “an invitation to everyone to be swept up into a movement that transcends politics and celebrates joy, beauty and goodness of life.”

The rally, which culminates outside the US Supreme Court, has been hailed as the largest annual human rights demonstration in the world.
