Biden threatens to make ‘right’ to abortion the ‘law of the land’

President Biden has vowed to legislate for abortion on demand across the US if the Democrats win majorities in both chambers of Congress next month.

Speaking ahead of the midterm elections on 8 November, Biden claimed that a vote for the Democrats was a vote for Roe v Wade style abortion laws across the US. Roe v Wade, which was overturned earlier this year, made abortion a constitutional right.

Currently, thirteen states protect unborn children from abortion in most circumstances, while several more limit abortion to the first three or four months of pregnancy.

‘Roe v. Wade’

Biden promised that if Democrats secured sufficient seats in both chambers: “The first bill that I will send to the Congress will be to codify Roe v. Wade.

“And when Congress passes it, I’ll sign it in January, 50 years after Roe was first decided the law of the land.

“And together, we’ll restore the right to choose for every woman in every state in America. So, vote. You got to get out the vote. We can do this if we vote.”

Pro-abortion

Earlier this month, Biden attacked US states for passing laws that uphold protections for the unborn.

In a ‘taskforce’ meeting with top White House officials and abortion activists Biden claimed the safeguards were “extremist”.

The Department of Health and Human Services recently announced over $6 million in grants as part of a push to “expand access” to abortion in America.
