BBC apologises for interviewing trans athlete who ‘enjoys’ hurting women

The BBC has apologised for interviewing a transgender athlete who previously boasted about knocking women out.

In a discussion about female-only sports, BBC Radio 4 interviewed Fallon Fox, a former women’s mixed martial arts fighter who is a biological male.

In 2020, Fox tweeted: “For the record, I knocked two out. One woman’s skull was fractured, the other not. And just so you know, I enjoyed it. See, I love smacking up TEFS (sic) in the cage who talk transphobic nonsense. It’s bliss!”

Apology

Fair Play For Women, a women’s campaign group, lodged a formal complaint after the programme aired last month.

Justin Webb, who conducted the interview, insisted that he and the producers had “no idea” of Fox’s comments.

The BBC Complaints Unit has now apologised, claiming it was “unaware of previous comments made by Fallon Fox” and if it had been, “we would have conducted the interview differently”.

Dr Nicola Williams, Director of Fair Play For Women, told The Telegraph: “If you knew that Fallon Fox was a trans fighter, you’d also know what Fallon Fox had said.”

150 genders

Last month The Daily Telegraph revealed that BBC Radio staff underwent training by a transgender lobby group which had taught them: “People can self-identify themselves in over 150 ways, and increasing!”

Global Butterflies taught staff to use an array of gender-neutral pronouns including “xe, xem, xyrs”.

Staff were also told they should include their pronouns in email signature boxes as “part of your trans brand”, but warned that “he/she” pronouns can create “discomfort, stress and anxiety” for gender non-conforming people.

‘Suppressing stories’

They’ve been pandering to a social contagion amongst young people rather than being the adult in the room.

A whistleblower told the newspaper that the BBC was “suppressing stories” which challenge trans activism, saying there is a “tight-knit cabal at the top of BBC News who give tacit approval to gender ideology”.

“They’ve been pandering to a social contagion amongst young people rather than being the adult in the room. ‘Inform and educate’ from the BBC Charter has left the BBC when it covers trans issues.”

Even though the BBC quit Stonewall’s controversial ‘Diversity Champions’ scheme last year, according to the whistleblower, it “wasn’t sufficient” because it “injected the ideology into the BBC and it’s still circulating”.

Bias admitted

‘Inform and educate’ from the BBC Charter has left the BBC when it covers trans issues.

Last year, the BBC admitted to bias after heavy criticism over an article stating that a High Court ruling on puberty-blocking drugs could cause gender-confused young people to commit suicide.

The Corporation also removed a BBC Teach resource for children aged nine to twelve, which claimed there are over 100 ‘gender identities’.
