Award-winning TV news from The Christian Institute

The Christian Institute has won a national media award for our weekly news video summarising the week’s top stories from our website.

The bulletin won a ‘highly commended’ award in the ‘innovative use of television’ category at the Christian Broadcasting Council annual media awards hosted by comedian Tim Vine.

Launched last year, the bulletin has been viewed over 80,000 times on video sharing website YouTube. It is also broadcast on satellite TV and other outlets.

Inspiration

Christian Institute broadcasting manager Tony Barber was at the ceremony to collect the award along with cameraman & editor Dave Rea and newsreader Jessica Khan.

Tony Barber said: “There is a lot of Christian Broadcasting talent around, and it was great to have our news bulletin recognised at this awards ceremony.

“Hopefully it can act as an inspiration to others to be creative in sharing a Christian view on the important issues of our day.”

Huge hit

Mike Judge, Head of Communications at The Christian Institute, said: “I want to congratulate Tony and his team for consistently producing a high-quality news bulletin each week.

“The bulletin is a huge hit with our supporters. It takes a tremendous amount of work to produce, but it shows what can be done when Christians are willing to be creative with technology while also being faithful to the Bible.”
