Nick Clegg criticises David Cameron’s marriage tax break plan

The Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, has hit out at the idea of tax breaks for married couples in a speech to think-tank Demos. He said while he agreed that “strong relationships between parents are immensely important”, he disagreed with Mr Cameron’s plan to support married couples in the tax system. Mr Clegg made the comments on 19 December.
