British Sharia councils: Panorama investigates, 8 April 2013

An investigation by BBC Panorama has found women in Britain are being put at risk by some Sharia councils. The programme shows Dr Suhaib Hasan, an Islamic scholar at Leyton Islamic Sharia Council telling an undercover reporter that she should only report domestic abuse to the police “as a last resort”.
