Stephanus Breytenbach was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given just 2 weeks to live. He has now outlived that prognosis by three years. He lives in Victoria, Australia, where Voluntary Assisted Dying is legal. Had he chosen it, his children would now be orphaned, as his wife’s cancer later returned and she died.
