Five years ago the UK Supreme Court ruled that the key tenets of the Scottish Government’s Named Person scheme were unlawful. In this series we’re looking back at that long road to victory; hearing from some involved in that historic legal win and others blazing the campaign trail.

In this episode Angus Saul speaks to Liz Smith, a Conservative MSP who was one of the very first to sound the alarm over the intrusive scheme which became known as “The Snoopers’ Charter”. She takes us on a fascinating journey as she revisits the changing political landscape over the five years from the law being passed to finally being dropped.

Liz Smith MSP is currently Shadow Secretary for Finance and Economy.
