Former US President George W Bush has spoken of a harrowing episode involving his mother’s miscarriage which helped to mould his philosophy of respecting life.

Speaking ahead of the publication of his autobiography, the former President spoke of seeing the remains of his mother’s baby. Writing in the book he said: “There was a human life, a little brother or sister”.
