Edward Leigh MP calls for action on Section 5

Edward Leigh MP has urged the Government to repeal the word “insulting” from Section 5 of the Public Order Act. Mr Leigh’s comments came during a Parliamentary debate on the Protection of Freedoms Bill on 1 March 2011. During the debate Mr Leigh listed numerous examples of people whose free speech had been restricted by the existing law.
