‘Science doesn’t support claim smacking is harmful’

Sociologist Dr Ashley Frawley says there is very little evidence to demonstrate gentle smacking causes harm to children, and most evidence available doesn’t support that claim. She is one of four prominent academics to endorse The Christian Institute’s research paper ‘Does smacking contribute to negative outcomes for children?’, and does not believe parents who do choose to lovingly discipline their children in this way should face police investigations, fines and jail sentences.
