Executive to drop explicit sex lessons?

The Scottish Executive may stop its backing of the inappropriate sex education materials which have caused controversy throughout Scotland, reports the Scottish Daily Mail.

According to the newspaper, the explicit sex education packs will not appear on the recommended list when it is published later this year.

The Daily Mail quotes one 'well-placed Labour MSP' as saying: "I wouldn't expect to see them there when the next edition comes out."

The paper also quotes another source as saying: "Essentially, we have been told they will disappear. That is for certain."

However, the Executive has yet to make a firm commitment to end its backing of the teaching packs.

Nor has the Executive made any comment about the equally shocking drugs education materials.

The Christian Institute has been campaigning against the drugs and sex education materials since March 2001.
