Children’s Minister Sarah Teather speaks about a new independent review which is to look into the sexualisation and commercialisation of childhood.

She acknowledges that the problem of overt sexualisation is becoming the “norm” and says it is important to talk about the issue.

In recent months there has been increasing concern over the sexualisation of children, with products such as padded bikinis for seven-year-olds causing alarm.
