Watch: ‘Free speech at risk from Govt extremism plans’

An “unfocused” approach to extremism could lead to many more people being labelled as an ‘extremist’ by the Government, The Christian Institute has warned.

Simon Calvert, Deputy Director for Public Affairs, said the “truly dangerous” people should be the target of the Government’s plans, and that others should be left to enjoy their freedom of speech.

Mr Calvert made the comments as the Counter-Extremism and Safeguarding Bill was announced by the Queen’s Speech.
