Newcastle: Christians unite against hate opera
Leaders of over 40 churches in Tyneside have written to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle and city councillors condemning the decision to host the show.
There is to be an organised, peaceful protest outside the Theatre Royal on Bank Holiday Monday 1 May in the hour before Jerry Springer the Opera raises the curtain for the first time on Tyneside.

Springer show plays to half empty theatres
Christian protests against Jerry Springer the Opera have caused theatres to be half empty, the show's production company has admitted.
