Who runs the theatre?

The Brighton Dome, which will be showing Jerry Springer the Opera, is owned by Brighton and Hove City Council and leased to the company 'Brighton Dome and Festival Limited'. Three of the company's directors are Councillors.

Public Money

The Brighton Dome receives substantial public funding from Brighton and Hove Council and the Arts Council England. During the year ended 31 August 2005, The Dome received grants for 'performances and educational projects' totalling £1,219,729 from the Council and £1,163,039 from the Arts Council England (Report and Financial Statements - For the Year Ended 31 August 2005, Brighton Dome and Festival Limited, page 13).
