Civil Partnerships Bill dropped as
Government sets up review

A Bill to give cohabitees and homosexuals the same privileges as married couples is expected to be dropped.

It is thought the Bill's sponsor, Lord Lester, will withdraw it following the Governments decision to set up a major review of 'civil partnerships'.

The review will involve 60 civil servants who will look into the implications of Lord Lester's Civil Partnerships Bill.

The decision to set up a review is a cause for concern.

The Christian Institute has published a briefing, Counterfeit Marriage, showing how Civil Partnerships devalue marriage. Download it by clicking on a link (right).
